Week 8: Writing a (romantic) Pop Song

Week 8: Idea 8

Writing a (romantic) Pop Song

Moutains of your love

I don’t know what I’m feeling, But I know I wanna feel everything with you!

Even the word has plans for us. (for us, for us).

Let’s live forever and chase the sunset.

But I know we are worlds apart, and

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

Your loves move moutains! (oooouuuu)

But I know we are worlds apart, and

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

And I now know how I feel about you.

I am full of the color blue.

As your eyes would say the same.

My love for you is like no other

There will be no hourglass

No final ding

No final bow

I don’t know what I’m feeling, But I know I wanna feel everything with you!

Even the word has plans for us. (for us, for us).

Let’s live forever and chase the sunset.

But I know we are worlds apart, and

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

But I know we are worlds apart, and

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

Your love moves mountains! (oooooouuuu)

And I now know how I feel about you.

What were you trying to think about in your song?

In this song I was thinking about the love I have seen in the movies. Especially in Romantic Comidies these characters show powerful love that somtimes consumes them.

What was your process for writing your song?

My process for this somg started off as a poem. Then it developed from there. I used my imgination to create the rest of the lyrics.

Was it easy? Hard? What you expected? Surprising?

It was actually a bit hard becasue at some point I was a bit lost in lyrics. After doing this myself I have much respect for musicians and their craft. They make it look so easy.

How successful do you think your song is?

I think my song is sucessful. It has some metaphors and romantic underlinings.

Do you think you will ever write another song?

I think I would give songwriting another chance. Maybe next time I will need more than a week to develop.

If you did write another song, what do you think it might be about?

If I did write another song, it proabably would be about the time we’re living in now and the impact of social distancing.
